I remember the Las Mascaras initiation that we held when I was a Las Mas officer. Pam Mallory, Ray Holland, Debbie Bingham, my wife Joan and the rest of Las Mas had a great time creating an actual audition for the candidates. We brought in outside judges and scripted them, as well as created improvs for the students and even had them sing! Those poor students were really nervous, and they were pretty mad when they learned that we had created the whole thing. It really wasn't required to join Las Mas.

They were great fun, and I believe it helped teach those students how to excel in a pressure situation.

I remember signing up for Mr. Johnston's English Composition class. I was later told he was The toughest English teacher at TJC. The first day, he told us, "No One makes an A in my class!" Well - I enjoyed his class So much that I came out at 6 weeks just a few points away from an A...and at semester's end, had an A in the class. He was an outstanding teacher that will never be forgotten.
