DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD
This award is the most prestigious award given by TJC.
It recognizes a former student (not necessarily a degree holder) for
distinguished professional achievement and distinctive contributions
to society, and by doing so has brought honor to the College. Final
approval by the President.
BLACK AND GOLD AWARD
This award recognizes an individual for their outstanding devotion to Tyler Junior College and who have volunteered time, effort, and/or financial support to promote the mission and goals of the College. Recipients need not be former students.
APACHE SPIRIT AWARD
This award recognizes any person or group who has shown spirit
and motivation through the contribution of time and energy to a program
or activity which measurably benefited Tyler Junior College. Recipients
need not be former students.
OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD
This award recognizes a former student of TJC who has
served or currently serves in an elected or appointed local, state or national
office. Recipient of this award will have made a significant contribution to
society by selfless dedication to public service, and in doing so, brought
honor to the College.
VALUABLE YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD
This award recognizes an individual of integrity and
stature for distinguished achievement in a business, profession or life
work, or be distinguished through outstanding service to Tyler Junior
College. Recipient must not have reached his/her 45th birthday on January
1 of the year nominated.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
This award recognizes an individual
whose significant contributions and devotion in promoting the mission
and goals of Tyler Junior College merits honor and praise. Recipients
need not be former students.
NOMINATION PROCEDURES
Nominations will be solicited from faculty, staff,
alumni and friends of the College through word-of-mouth, press releases,
letters and appropriate publications. Deadline for nominations is April
1.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Selection of recipients of the awards shall
be made by the TJC Alumni Association Board following the nominations’ deadline,
April 1.
