Welcome from the President Dear Students, On behalf of our entire faculty and staff, welcome to Tyler Junior College, the finest two year institution in America. We are pleased that you have selected this college as the place to advance your educational and personal goals. Tyler Junior College was established in 1926 as part of the Tyler public school system. A lot has changed since then. I hope you will take pride in being a part of the "new" TJC as the College continues to grow. You are part of a growing force in America ... more than 44 percent of all students enrolled in higher education are attending a junior college. I believe you will quickly see that we are committed to providing the best possible learning environment for you, and I encourage you to call upon the dedicated faculty and staff who are here to help you. Our graduates have been successful both upon transfer to upper-division institutions and direct entry into the work force.
