The Venue

"The Venue" is a new performance "event" at Tyler Junior College in the Jean Browne Theatre. Co-Sponsored by Theatre TJC, and Green Acres College Ministries, the Venue is a type of "coffee-house" where actors, poets, artists, and musicians (unplugged only) have a stage to perform to an audience targeted at the college-aged student as well as young single adults.

Based on the concept practiced at the "beatnik-coffeehouses" of the fifties and sixties-the Venue not only offers a place to go but also an opportunity for young performers a stage to practice their talent.
