COURSE NUMBER: DRAM 1220, 2120
COURSE NAME: Theatre Practicum I & II
HOURS: Lecture 0, Laboratory 2, Clock Hours 2
SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS: 2

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE: Emphasis on techniques and procedures in a mounting production. Includes all phases of theatre through actual participation culminating in at least two productions.

TEXTBOOK: Assigned Scripts

PURPOSE OF COURSE: The purpose of this course is to provide actual theater experience for the student through participation in all technical phases of a production.

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION: Rehearsal, crew calls, and workshops supplemented by comments and/or critiques by the instructor/director.

METHODS OF EVALUATION: Technical work, crew responsibilities and assignments, and public performances.

After studying the material presented in this course of study, the student will be able to do the following:

1. To be able to serve in various capacities of the technical areas in a production.
2. To be able to discuss the working relationships from director, to actor, to crew member.
3. To describe the working elements necessary to mount a production.
4. To discuss responsibilities of each area of a production.
5. To develop interpersonal skills in theatre oriented surroundings.
