JBJB
Sept. 20-21, 2007
Second Stage Production
Wise Auditorium Stage

The Tyler Junior College Speech and Theatre opens the doors on a new Second Stage Series with their version of Archibald's MacLeish's JB on Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21 at 6:00pm and 8:00pm in Wise Auditorium. Admission is free. Directed by Rebecca Faulds, JB was first produced at the ANTA Theatre in New York in 1958, "but it is as profound today as in the fifties when it was considered immediately as an American classic", Faulds. "The drama centers on the wager between God and Satan than the latter could coerse Job,God's most faithful, to curse God under the right circumstances. The play shows Satan's assault on Job and his family and the ordeal Job must face.

JB is played by Hallville sophomore Braden Bradley. Nickles, the figure of God is played by Tylerite Spencer Young. Randi Henderson, a Tyler sophomore plays the Satan-figure Ms. Zuss. Also involved are Camialle Wesley, Jered Willoughby, Dorrell Anthony, Daphne White, Ryan Forester, Samantha Moore, Micah Sharman, Angela Musick, and Carley Stewart.

Bryce McWilliams and Kara Guillot are the technical assistants.

Second Stage Productions fall between major productions and are usually shorter works due to time constraints in preparation. Students who are not members of the mainstage productions are cast into these "minor" productions, hence giving the TJC student more opprotunities for performance. JB is approximately ninety minutes in length.
