Forensics Team
The Tyler Junior College Forensic Program has
been in existence for over 60 years - we were among the very
first to compete in collegiate forensics in the state of Texas.
Our program has a long tradition of excellence that continues
today with the school currently being rated at the 3rd. leading
community college program in the nation.
TJC Students are encouraged to participate in both Theatre and
Forensics!
TJC Forensic Team members may choose from all eleven of the
national individual speech events, Parliamentary debate, plus Lincoln-Douglas debate,
Cross-Examination debate, and Interpreter's Theatre. Most students
end each year competing in four to six events, receiving excellent
training in diverse areas from interpretation to debate. TJC travels to highly competitive tournaments, competing against Universities as well as Community Colleges.
Tyler Junior College has won more Sweepstakes Trophies than
any other community college in Texas at the Phi Rho Pi National
Tournament!
TJC offers smaller classes with more personal attention by instructors,
greater opportunity to perform and more! The head coache
has over 30 years experience. M'Liss Hindman has been recognized with state and national
awards as an outstanding educator!
Tyler Junior College forensic students may also be actively
involved in our top quality theatre productions. Our students
are actively recruited by four-year schools for scholarship programs
in both speech and theatre!
