DESCRIPTION OF COURSE: Focuses on beginning and intermediate concepts
and problems concerning MIDI, sequencing techniques, and audio with
hands on experience. Numerous synthesizers and software packages
will be used, including VOYETRA® and BAND-IN-A-BOX®,
with emphasis placed on the skills necessary for sound construction,
MIDI arranging, and multi-track sequencing.

COURSE NAME: Practicum in Electronic Music Production I
HOURS: Lecture 3, Laboratory 3, Clock Hours 96
SEMESTER HOURS CREDIT: 3
PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of COMM 2304.
DESCRIPTION OF COURSE: Focuses on intermediate and advanced concepts
and problems concerning MIDI, sequencing techniques, and digital
audio recording with hands on experience. Numerous synthesizers
and software packages will be used with emphasis placed on the skills
necessary for sound construction, MIDI arranging, multi-track sequencing,
microphone placement, effects processing and multi-track digital
recording using an Alesis ADAT®.

COURSE NAME: Practicum in Electronic Music Production II
HOURS: Lecture 3, Laboratory 3, Clock Hours 96
SEMESTER HOURS CREDIT: 3
PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of COMM 2325.
DESCRIPTION OF COURSE: Focuses on advanced concepts and problems
concerning MIDI, sequencing techniques, digital audio recording,
and digital editing with hands on experience. Numerous hardware
and software packages will be used, especially the Alesis ADAT®
and SOUND FORGE®, with emphasis placed on the skills necessary
for digital multi-track digital recording and digital editing.
