Dual Credit/Early Admission Student

Returning Dual Credit Students: Begin with Step 5.

Step 1: Check for Eligibility

Visit with your high school counselor about eligibility. Obtain a Dual Credit Permission Form with counselor’s signature for approval. Home school students need to meet with Dual Credit Staff.

Step 2: Apply to TJC

Complete a TJC Admissions Application

Step 3: Submit Your Transcripts

Submit an official high school transcript (no faxed copies). Home school transcripts must be notarized.

Step 4: Submit your Test Scores

Submit any TAKS, SAT/ACT scores showing exemption (if taken) and complete any other testing requirements if necessary (such as THEA or ACCUPLACER). If you are unsure whether you need more testing, please see the minimum testing requirements for dual credit students.

Step 5: Turn in Paperwork

Bring transcript, test scores, and signed Dual Credit Permission Form to the Dual Credit Office.
For returning students: Only bring your signed Dual Credit Permission Form to the Dual Credit Office.
*Note: A NEW Dual Credit Permission Form is needed for every semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer).

Step 6: Turn in Vaccination Form

Effective Spring 2012, all students taking classes on the Main Campus of TJC must submit Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination forms. See the Bacterial Meningitis page for more information.

Be prepared to make class selection and pay for your classes upon registration or by payment deadline. ALL STUDENTS NOT PAID BY PAYMENT DEADLINE WILL BE DROPPED!!!
